Pittsburgh-based Westinghouse Electric Corp. reported net income for the third quarter of 1986 increased over the same period in 1985, according to Chairman Douglas D. Danforth. Net income in the third quarter was $169.3 million on sales of $2.57 billion, compared to 1985 third-quarter net income of $148.6 million on sales of $2.6 billion. Sales for the quarter were down slightly from last year because of the sale of Group W Cable in June and the divestiture of other operations.
