Loara 30, El Dorado 0--The Saxons, who have allowed only 28 points this year, turned in another strong defensive effort in shutting out the Golden Hawks in Bradford Stadium.

First-place Loara improved its league record to 3-0-1 and overall record to 6-0-1. El Dorado is 2-2 and 2-5.

Saxon quarterback Scott Wood led a 38-yard scoring drive to put Loara ahead, 7-0, in the first quarter. Brian Malavar intercepted a Doug Yates pass on the final play for the first half to make it 14-0.

In the opening drive of the second half, the Saxons made it 17-0 on a 23-yard field goal by Wood. Later in the quarter, Danny Rodriguez returned a punt 68 yards for a touchdown to make it 23-0.
