Seagram Co., Montreal, said it named Charles R. Bronfman co-chairman. Edgar M. Bronfman, who previously held the title by himself, becomes co-chairman and remains chief executive. Charles Bronfman had previously been deputy chairman of the company with responsibility for overseeing its 22.5% stake in Du Pont Co. “The board agreed that his new title more appropriately reflects the importance to the company of the Du Pont investment,” Edgar Bronfman said in a statement.
