Dismembered Body Found at I-5 Stop

OCEANSIDE — The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the discovery Friday of parts of the body of an unidentified woman at a rest stop near here.

Lt. Bill Baxter said a maintenance crew discovered parts of a body in a trash can at the Aliso Creek rest stop off Interstate 5 and notified authorities. On Saturday, while detectives were scanning the area, the same trash crew found additional body parts in a garbage can, Baxter said. A preliminary report by a county coroner showed that the victim was a female Caucasian, apparently Latina, about 5 feet tall, with a stocky build and dark or black hair, the lieutenant said.
