A Simi Valley man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of murder in the slaying of another Simi Valley man with a loose gravestone at the Simi Valley Public Cemetery.
Investigators found physical evidence placing Adam Van Stane, 23, of Simi Valley, at the cemetery, where his friend Michael Morrison was found dead Monday morning, Simi Valley police Sgt. Tony Harper said.
Morrison, 28, of Simi Valley, apparently was struck on the head with a gravestone found near his body, Harper said. An employee of the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District found his body Monday morning.
Investigators do not know the motive for the slaying but believe the two men were arguing, Harper said.
Van Stane is to be arraigned Thursday in Ventura County Municipal Court in Ventura, Harper said. He is being held at the Ventura County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bond.
