Malibu : Court to Be Named for Judge

The Malibu Municipal Courtroom will be named in honor of John J. Merrick, who retired in October after 13 years as the court’s judge, Los Angeles County Supervisor Deane Dana has announced. Merrick was the first judge to preside over the 186-square-mile judicial district, which includes Malibu, Calabasas, Agoura Hills and Westlake Village. The judicial district was created in 1973.
