Dissident Soviet writer Anatoly Marchenko was buried at the Chistopol prison where he died, despite his widow’s request that the body be returned to the Moscow area for interment, family friends said in the capital. Soviet authorities said that Marchenko, 48, died of a brain hemorrhage in the prison hospital after a long illness. His widow, Larisa Bogoraz, told her friends by telephone from Chistopol that Soviet officials refused her request on grounds that it would take too much time and would be too difficult to arrange.
