UC Riverside Wins Women’s Volleyball Title

SACRAMENTO — Melanie Jones had 23 spikes as No. 2-ranked UC Riverside defeated No. 1-ranked Cal State Northridge to win the NCAA Division II women’s volleyball title Saturday night.
UC Riverside won by scores of 15-9, 15-6, 15-6.
Annie Kniss, UC Riverside’s Division II player of the year who suffered a severe ankle sprain in Friday night’s semifinal match, played the entire match and led both teams with 14 digs and 29 assists.
