‘Trafficking in Chaos’
We all know how bad the traffic conditions are on our freeways.
Let’s face it, we are not addressing our traffic problems by converting emergency lanes to regular traffic lanes. What we need is proper freeway management. Recall the year of the L.A. Olympics? Studies showed that the total daily volume either remained the same or was higher on most freeways. The daily traffic peak periods, however, were stretched over longer intervals allowing for smoother flow. How did we do it? We managed our trucking and delivery services, businesses, etc. The time has come to do it again in order to preserve the quality of life we expect in Southern California.
