PCAA Roundup : Las Vegas Rolls Past the Aggies

Freddie Banks scored 24 points, and Armon Gilliam added 17 to lead fourth-ranked Nevada Las Vegas to an 85-58 Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. victory over New Mexico State Saturday night at Las Vegas.
UNLV (18-1 overall, 7-0 in the PCAA) started slowly but built a 42-25 halftime lead. New Mexico State committed 14 turnovers in the first half and made just 21% of its shots in the first half.
Steve McGlothlin scored 16 points for New Mexico State (8-11, 2-6).
Utah State 64, UC Santa Barbara 61--Gilbert Pete’s three-point play with seven seconds left lifted the Aggies to victory over the Gauchos at Logan, Utah.
Santa Barbara (8-8, 3-4) led by as many as nine points with 15:57 left. Pete scored 13 of his points in the second half to bring the Aggies (11-9, 4-4) back. Dan Conway added 13 points for Utah State.
Utah State took advantage of 23 Santa Barbara turnovers.
