Kaiser Steel put its coal operations up for sale.

Financially troubled Kaiser Steel said it is also looking for a buyer for Kaiser Power Corp., a small unit that plans and develops co-generation facilities. Kaiser Coal makes up a substantial part of the Colorado Springs, Colo., company’s operations. Kaiser Steel also is in the steel fabricating business. Kaiser Steel President Charles McNeil said the businesses are being sold as part of a restructuring of the parent company.
