The Cal State Long Beach women’s basketball team, having dropped from fourth to sixth in the Associated Press poll after losing Saturday at Hawaii, will play UC Santa Barbara in a Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. game tonight at 7:30 in the University Gym.
That’s not good news for the Gauchos, who were embarrassed on their own floor by Long Beach last month, 105-25. This will be the first home game for the 49ers, 20-2 overall and 10-1 in conference play, since Jan. 26 and their only break from the road in a seven-game stretch.
Santa Barbara, 4-16 and 1-11, is in last place in the PCAA, and has not beaten Long Beach in 26 tries.
USC, meanwhile, will play host to Arizona State in a Pacific 10 Conference game at 5:45 p.m. at the Sports Arena. The Trojans, winners of two straight and 9 of 11, are 15-6 and 9-2. The Sun Devils are 9-11 and 3-8.
UCLA, 14-7 and 7-4, will go for its fourth consecutive victory in a game against Arizona, 9-12 and 3-8, at 5:45 at Pauley Pavilion. When the teams met earlier this season at Tucson, the Bruins held on to win, 66-65.
