The Santa Monica Arts Commission has established the Community Initiated Arts Program to encourage free or low-cost performances or exhibitions by arts organizations.
The commission has made available $10,000 for the purchase of arts services for the city. Those services selected after review by a commission panel will be eligible to receive up to 50% of their total cost. All projects must take place in Santa Monica.
Applications for the program must be received no later than April 1. Awards will be decided in May for projects taking place between July 1 and Dec. 31.
