A patrolman and a motorcycle gang member shot each other during a drug raid, San Francisco police said. About 20 officers raided a Victorian mansion, described as the “chapter house” of the “Misfits” gang, in a search for narcotics, weapons and explosives, Police Sgt. James Reutlinger said. The sergeant said Joseph Deshetres, 40, shot at Officer Edwin Hemphill but the slug glanced off his head. Hemphill then shot Deshetres in the stomach. Officer Hemphill was reported in good condition at a hospital. The gang member underwent surgery. Police said they arrested about 20 people at the house.
