Lorrie Nichols slumped to third place then rallied with two 248-games to keep her lead in a $25,000 bowling tournament at Merritt Island, Fla.
Nichols finished the second round of match play with a 7,679-pin total, 37 pins ahead of second-place Robin Romeo of Van Nuys. Both women were 7-8-1 in the 16 matches of the Ladies Touring Players Association event.
