With Robert Redford in Tokyo promoting “humanistic cinema,” Japanese audiences are packing theaters to see “Legal Eagles,” his most recent film. Redford arrived in Japan recently at the head of a delegation of independent film makers that is taking part in the U.S. Film Festival in Tokyo. The delegation, which includes Alan Alda, brought 10 films produced at the Sundance Institute, founded by Redford in Utah seven years ago to support independent American artists.
