Marie Fontaine, Missy Abraham and Corine Sandfry have signed letters of intent to attend Chapman College, Paul Kahn, women’s basketball coach, said Friday.
The 6-foot 1-inch Fontaine was team most valuable player, All-League, All-CIF and All-State, averaging 18 points and 12 rebounds for Lompoc High’s CIF 2-A championship squad.
Abraham, a 5-6 point guard, was an All-Metro League selection at St. Mary’s High School in Portland, Ore. This past season, she averaged 12 points and five assists for a 20-6 team.
Sandfry (5-8) is a junior transfer from Utah State. She was named All-High Country Athletic Conference as a freshman in 1985-86. Last season she did not play much because of various injuries. As a senior at Torrance’s Bishop Montgomery High School in 1984-85, she was the Angelus League’s most valuable player and finished ninth in the CIF in scoring.
