Joen Mascari, who has been in the communications and graphic arts fields for 23 years, has assumed ownership of Western HVACR News, regional monthly trade tabloid dealing with the heating, air conditioning and refrigeration industries.
Sam Jaffe, founding publisher of the Los Angeles-based publication, said his sale of the trade paper became effective with the December issue and that Mascari will serve as editor and publisher. Jaffe will serve as consultant and adviser, while Charles Lyons will continue as assistant editor and advertising manager.
The publication is the major independent voice of the affiliated industries in the 11 western states, reaching an audience of more than 18,000 readers each month. Jaffe will still head Building News Inc., which publishes and markets technical books for the construction industry at its offices, 3055 Overland Ave.
