J. Douglas and Marianne Pardee have pledged a $1-million unrestricted gift to USC. Pardee is chairman of the board emeritus of the Pardee Construction Co., a leading real estate developer in California and Nevada.
The Pardee gift will contribute toward The Campaign for the University of Southern California, USC’s current program to raise $557 million by 1990, said USC President James H. Zumberge, who announced the pledge. The Pardees had previously donated $1.7 million for the USC Library Fund.
Pardee, a 1949 business graduate of USC and a member of the university’s board of trustees since 1978, is vice chairman of the campus planning committee and a member of the development committee.
