Grad Has Much to Learn About Life
David Graham, the Artesia High School student who used his graduation speech to verbally flay his fellow man, has much to learn about life. If he indeed felt this strongly about the ineptitude of his school then why did he wait until his graduation to speak out? His freshman or sophomore year would have been a better starting point.
To be a nonconformist is one thing, to deliberately deceive those whom he accuses by changing his speech just prior to giving it is a perfect example of a brain-dead clown. Go on, Principal Joe Quarles, give Graham his diploma. He won’t know for at least five years what to do with it anyhow.
The students who graduated this year are the future. With any luck, they have good sense and compassion to lead them instead of Graham’s blinding sarcasm and oppressive negativism.
