Chris Conangla, currently a weekday news anchor and reporter with WBZ-TV, the NBC affiliate in Boston, will join KCBS-TV Channel 2 as a weekend anchor and general assignment reporter beginning Sept. 14, it was announced by the CBS-owned and operated station. A spokesperson for KCBS said the station has been trying to hire Conangla for almost two years. Conangla received a UPI New England Award for a documentary he anchored and a national Gabriel Award for feature reporting. He will replace Warren Olney, KCBS political editor, who will be returning to daily reporting.
