The advertising firm Ogilvy & Mather Public Affairs will develop a media campaign to inform the public about AIDS, company spokesman Scott Widmeyer said in Washington. He said the one-year, $4.6-million federal contract calls for production and placement of television, radio, magazine and newspaper ads explaining the facts about acquired immune deficiency syndrome, and the firm will also assist in placing ads developed at the federal Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta for the government’s AIDS Awareness Month in October. He said a second wave of advertising is to be ready by next March, and a third phase will be developed for later use.
