Certron Corp. reported net earnings of $23,000 for its fiscal 1987 third quarter, contrasted with a year-earlier loss of $71,000. Sales for the period ended July 31 totaled $6.5 million, up 33% from $4.9 million in the year earlier.
For the first nine months, the Anaheim-based company reported net income of $205,000, more than triple the $61,000 reported for the first three quarters of its fiscal 1986. Sales for the nine months were $20.2 million, up 10% from $18.3 million.
The company, which makes and distributes audio recording tape and floppy disks and distributes prerecorded videocassettes, said its earnings and sales were largely boosted by a surge in the videocassette market that more than doubled the number of cassettes it sold.
