Lorne Greene on Recovery List

Lorne Greene, best known for his role in the television series “Bonanza,” is on the road to recovery from a bout with pneumonia that developed after an operation on a bleeding ulcer, hospital officials said today.
Greene, 72, was admitted to St. John’s Hospital and Health Center in Santa Monica on Aug. 5 for an undisclosed minor surgical procedure. On Aug. 19, the actor underwent surgery for a perforated ulcer and thereafter developed pneumonia. He was placed on a respirator that was finally removed Monday.
