Castro Hopes for Cuban Life Expectancy of 80

HAVANA — President Fidel Castro says Cuba hopes to raise life expectancy to 80 years by 1992, the Cuban news agency Prensa Latina reported Sunday.
In a speech inaugurating a Havana hospital, Castro said that improvements in infant cardiovascular surgery and new pediatric intensive care units will help efforts to reach that goal. The current life expectancy is 73 years.
