Dow Jones’ income rose 11% to $36.8 million for the third quarter, compared to the year-ago period. The New York-based publisher of the Wall Street Journal and Barron’s attributed the increased earnings to a lower federal income tax rate and “significant increases in equity earnings” from Telerate Inc., a financial information service in which it owns a controlling interest.
