‘Poor House’ for Homeless

“The good old days” is a term with a different meaning for each of us. It means to me the days before World War II and growing up happily in a small Midwestern town, population 27,000.
The old days weren’t good for everyone, though, for there were the homeless even then. However, our town took care of its homeless. On the edge of town was the Poor House. Today that Poor House is gone, but the building still stands, completely renovated and modernized to operate as a nursing home.
Harking back to the good old days, appropriately near Irvine’s “Old Town” just off Sand Canyon Road at the Animal Shelter will be Irvine’s very own Poor House.
Way to go, Irvine!
