Encounter in Madrid

I read with interest and great appreciation the very articulate letter of Ted Wyglendowski (Oct. 25). I think he makes a vary valid and eloquent case about the precautions all travelers need to take in today’s crowded urban environments, in whatever country they visit. His very positive comments about the courtesy and hospitality he and his wife encountered while traveling in Spain is, in the judgment of anyone who knows Spain well, representative of the experience of millions of tourists who visit Spain each year.
I am grateful for the balanced and fair-minded editorial philosophy of The Times which resulted in printing Wyglendowski’s letter.
