The body of a man was found by police in a vacant lot behind a bar Tuesday morning, and police are treating their investigation as a homicide, said Bob George, an Oceanside police spokesman.
The body, a white male in his early 30s, was found near the Embassy Room in the 1800 block of South Hill Street. There were no gunshot or knife wounds, but the victim had head injuries, George said.
There also was evidence of facial injuries, but records indicate the victim was treated for those wounds a few days ago at Tri-City Hospital, George said.
