BANGKOK, Thailand — Cambodian Premier Hun Sen will join Prince Norodom Sihanouk, the exiled guerrilla leader, for a second round of peace talks on Jan. 27 in France, the Cambodian news agency SPK said Friday.
Sihanouk and Hun Sen met Dec. 2-4 in France for the first talks between Cambodian belligerents and raised hopes for a possible breakthrough in the nine-year conflict.
Last week, Sihanouk, temperamental leader of a fractious guerrilla coalition, canceled further meetings over what he called criticism from Asian backers and the refusal of other insurgent factions to attend. He reversed himself Tuesday and said he was ready to talk again with Hun Sen, head of the Vietnamese-supported Phnom Penh government.
