Duarte : Meeting on Strategic Plan

Duarte will officially launch its long-term strategic planning effort with an orientation meeting at 8 a.m. Saturday at Duarte High School, 1565 E. Central Ave. The city hopes to use the planning process, copied from larger municipalities, to find ways to capitalize on its strengths and overcome its weaknesses over the next 20 years. More than 75 residents are involved in the project, which includes task forces on economic development, education, health and medical services, public safety, city finance and the environment.
