Description: Located in the Chino Hills on the site of the former oil town of Olinda, this 124-acre county-run park boasts what must be Orange County’s only grove of redwoods: an introduced 10-acre stand reached via a 1.1-mile nature trail. Scattered throughout the park are pepper trees, sycamores, eucalyptus and pines. Carbon Canyon Regional Park was opened in 1975.
Admission: The park is open for day use only. Hours Nov. 1 through March 31 are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.; April 1 through Oct. 31 the park is open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Admission is $1.25 per vehicle.
