Vons supermarket chain recalled its own brand of tomato juice from its 180 stores in California because a Fresno man said he got sick after drinking some of the juice, then found fibrous material in the can. The cans ordered pulled from store shelves are 46-ounce Vons brand tomato juice, lot number F220K9T7, supplied by Pacific Coast Packers of Lodi, Calif. People who return cans of that juice will get a refund, Vons spokeswoman Suzanne Dyer said. She said the Associated Laboratories of Orange tested the suspected can and found “the juice poses no health hazard.” The laboratory has been unable to identify the fibrous material. Charlie Dry, 62, was reported in good condition at a Fresno hospital.
