6th House Fire Victim Dies

A sixth victim of a fatal Montebello fire last weekend, a 10-year old girl who was a guest of the family who lived in the home, died late Tuesday in Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, hospital officials said.
Mandie Lopez had been in critical condition suffering from smoke inhalation since the fire early Sunday morning, doctors said.
Joe and Gloria Medina, the adults who lived in the home, were in a Montebello hospital in serious but stable condition suffering from smoke inhalation. Montebello fire officials said they found an unused smoke detector in a closet.
