Animal Research

Kevles exposes the well-meaning but misguided efforts of these anti-animal research vigilantes.
As long as these people are so opposed to use of animals like mice, rats, monkeys, dogs, cats, armadillos, etc. for use in medical and scientific research, I wonder if these same people are prepared to become the guinea pigs for essential research to replace animals? As long as they want to picket research laboratories, I wonder why they don’t also picket meatpacking plants, fisheries, manufacturers who make equipment for these trades as well as manufacturers of firearms and fishing tackle, etc.?
And I wonder if they are all vegetarians or do they love to eat beef, pork, mutton, poultry, fish?
Actually, if our concerned friends want to help the health of animal life, why aren’t they involved in the battle for survival of thousands of endangered species of mammals, birds, and marine life (endangered by population explosion of one mammal--Homo sapiens) such as the California Condor, falcons, whooping cranes, eagles, Florida manatees, Hawaiian geese, blue and gray whales, musk turtles, orangutans, pandas, giant otters, white rhinos, monk seals, Siberian tigers, ferrets, etc.?
