Ralph D. Caulo has been elected president and chief operating officer of Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, Orlando, Fla. Caulo, 53, previously was an executive vice president in the office of the president. William Jovanovich continues as chairman and chief executive.
J. William Brandner, 51, Peter Jovanovich, 39, and Jack O. Snyder, 46 have been elected associates of the president. Each is an executive vice president of HBJ. All had been members of the office of the president.
Trammell Crow resigned as a director of Harcourt Brace Jovanovich and as chairman of its executive committee. The directors elected William Jovanovich as chairman pro tem of the executive committee.
