Lakewood : Mayor for the Third Time

Councilwoman Jacqueline Rynerson, a two-time mayor of Lakewood, was elected to a third term in the office at Tuesday night’s City Council meeting. Veteran council member Larry Van Nostran, who has served on the council 14 years, was elected vice mayor.
Also at Tuesday night’s meeting, three incumbent council members, Wayne Piercy, Marc Titel and Robert Wagner, were sworn in for new two-year terms on the council after their relection last week.
In other business, the City Council awarded a $227,000 public works contract to Southern California Builders of Mission Viejo to add a wing to the Weingart Senior Adult Center, and authorized the Sheriff’s Department to apply to the state for a $4,000 grant for a computerized criminal apprehension program.
