‘Ethics Argued in Hoag’s Use of Heart’

After reading the article “Ethics Argued in Hoag’s Use of ‘John Doe’ Heart” (April 22), I wonder if we now need to carry on our persons Medical Alert information that states:
“To whom it may concern:
Dead or alive, this body belongs to me. Only with my, or my next of kin’s, consent do I wish to give up all or any part of it. Therefore, because of this very personal human right, if you find me in a state of unconsciousness, please take me to a hospital other than Hoag Memorial for treatment.”
