Marine’s Death: Questions, Disbelief and Descriptions

I read with disbelief the statements made (April 21) by various Cal State Fullerton athletes regarding the death of Staff Sgt. Richard Bottjer and the involvement of their football players in this unbelievably tragic event.

I am appalled that some of these people, quoted in the article, actually plan to support the two athletes involved in the killing. No wonder we are living in such a brutal world. How sick can some of these athletes (and their parents) be?

I am ashamed of Cal State Fullerton Coach Gene Murphy and the way he is trying to sweep this under the carpet. Their precious team, it seems, is more important to them than justice.
