The Seoul Olympic Organizing Committee said that delayed entries have pushed the number of athletes expected to compete to at least 11,555 from at least 136 nations. It figures to be the largest Games ever.
The largest number of athletes in any previous Olympics was 7,830 at Munich in 1972.
