The European Community imposed special import duties of up to 33.4% on Japanese computer printers, saying they were being dumped at unfairly low prices on EC markets. The EC Commission said a yearlong investigation had shown that 14 Japanese companies sold printers in Europe cheaper than they did at home or at prices below the cost of production. The Japanese companies affected by the EC decision include Bros. Industries Ltd., Citizen Watch Co., Fujitsu Ltd., NEC Corp., Seiko Epson Corp. and Seikosha Co.
