Man, 20, Dies When Car Runs Into Tree

A 20-year-old man was killed Sunday when his car swerved off California 78 in San Marcos and struck a tree.
Daniel Beverson of Vista died at the scene of the 5:40 a.m. accident near the intersection with Twin Oaks Valley Road, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.
Authorities said Beverson was westbound on the freeway when his car ran off the road for an unknown reason and struck the tree. Beverson was alone in the car, and no other vehicle was involved in the accident, the spokesman said.
