LONDON — The British Broadcasting Corp. said Sunday that it is destroying a roof cooling tower believed to harbor bacteria after an outbreak of legionnaire’s disease killed two employees.
About 80 people are believed to have been infected in or around the BBC’s London headquarters.
The disease, a form of pneumonia, takes its name from an outbreak that killed 29 people at an American Legion meeting in Philadelphia 12 years ago.
