South African Minister for Law and Order Adriaan Vlok accused the British Broadcasting Corp. on Friday of biased reporting on South Africa--even going so far as to say its correspondents may be expelled. Vlok said the broadcast of “Suffer the Children”--a documentary about South African children alleging torture of children in police detention--was designed to generate hatred toward South African police and security forces. The South African regime had also criticized the BBC for its complete live coverage of “Freedomfest,” an all-day rock extravaganza celebrating the 70th birthday of imprisoned South African black leader Nelson Mandela.
