The Phoenix Cardinals, who failed to sign their 1987 top draft pick, have signed linebacker Ken Harvey to a four-year contract worth more than $1.7 million, the team announced.
The contract includes a $700,000 signing bonus and incentives that could be worth between $75,000 and $100,000 a year.
“It’s done, now it’s time to play ball,” said Harvey, a 6-foot 2-inch, 230-pounder out of California.
Cardinal owner Bill Bidwill denied that his team’s inability to sign its top pick last year, quarterback Kelly Stouffer of Colorado State, played any part in the negotiations with Harvey.
