Poland Eases Curbs on Travel to West

WARSAW — The Interior Ministry has approved changes that will make it easier for Poles to travel to the West, the official news agency PAP announced Sunday.
The regulations, which take effect today, will allow Poles temporarily staying abroad to invite anyone to visit, rather that just close relatives as in the past.
All Poles must have some form of invitation to apply for a passport, a regulation introduced after the imposition of martial law in 1981.
