Glass Table Shatters, Kills Man Sitting on It

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. — A man sitting on a glass table with his fiancee on his lap died after the table abruptly broke and sent a glass shard slashing into his arm, authorities said.
Brian Peterson, 35, of New Britain died last week at New Britain General Hospital, officials said. His fiancee, Susan Ferris, was treated for injuries at the hospital and released.
