Pierre Quinon, who won the gold medal in the pole vault at the 1984 Olympics, has failed to make the French Olympic team that will compete at Seoul next month.
The three vaulters chosen ahead of Quinon are Philippe Collet, Thierry Vigneron and Phillippe d’Encausse.
Quinon has been hobbled by injuries the past three years.
