Developer Walter Smyk moved a step closer Friday to building his envisioned $33-million luxury retail complex near Horton Plaza as the Centre City Development Corp. approved an agreement to consider selling Smyk its 12,500 square feet on the proposed building site.
The deal hinges on Smyk’s ability to buy property from other owners on the block bounded by 1st Avenue and F, G and Front streets. Smyk promised to submit a design of the two-story building, dubbed The Paladion, along with a proposed financing method and cost estimate, within 60 days.
