Despite the still-raging controversy over the merits of colorization, C. Wilson Markle, president of Colorization Inc., the largest colorizer in Canada, is being honored in Britain for his contributions to the film and video industries. The Council of the British Kinematograph Sound and Television Society has awarded Markle a Fellowship of the Society. In addition, Markle will receive the society’s annual Phil Berkley Award for “outstanding contribution toward the linking of film and television technologies.”
